Abstract
The use of the sewability-integrated environment (SIE), which aims to standardise quality and improve efficiency, is still delayed in clothing manufacture. This is due to a lack of reliable mechatronic systems and of a standard interface between machinist and machines. Some new areas for the development of SIE in apparel manufacture are proposed.
