Abstract

The accurate prediction of flow-generated noise in a ventilation system at the design stage is of importance. The prediction method recently derived by Mak for predicting flow-generated noise produced by multiple elements in an air duct is introduced in this paper. Based on the prediction method of Mak, new computer software is developed to enable designers to predict flow-generated noise produced by multiple in-duct elements. The development of the program is introduced. Three numerical examples computed by the software are presented and discussed.
