Abstract

The development of a Navier−Stokes code for hypersonic simulations is presented and various thermochemical nonequilibrium models are implemented. Numerical simulations of hypersonic flows over AS-202 command module indicate that the effects of different vibration-dissociation coupling models are weak with respect to aerodynamic coefficients and surface heat transfers.
