Abstract
Aiming to enhance students’ intercultural interaction skills, a virtual exchange (VE) activity was organised together with a module designed and delivered using a Conversation Analysis (CA) – based blended pedagogy. This presentation reports on the development of teaching materials for the intercultural module as well as the delivery of the module integrating the proposed pedagogy and VE.
Furthermore, in order to understand the impact of the materials designed and the selected delivery mode, a learner survey and after-course interviews were administered to collect feedback from the participants. Although the data collected reveals some challenges learners faced during the VE, the feedback was generally positive indicating the potential of the CA-based blended pedagogy for intercultural language teaching and learning.
