Abstract

At the early stage of design process, analysis and optimisation on product performances can help to increase design reliability and shorten design cycle for a new product. The investigation of auto body performances in body design process by using FE method was carried out including sizes of structural openings, vertical deflections of longitudinal beams of chassis frame and stress distributions over the entire body. This design-oriented structural analysis method can be a valuable reference for improving the conceptual development of a new product.
