Abstract
High roundoff noise and sensitivities are major problems in digital oscillator design. These problems become more severe as the angles of the poles move toward zero for low-frequency oscillators. A digital oscillator structure using lossless two-port is proposed for which the above mentioned errors are reduced considerably and are generally insignificant for low-frequency digital oscillator implementation. Expressions for oscillator design together with error predictions are derived and found to be in agreement with computer simulations. Results of roundoff error and sensitivity are presented and compared with those of other implementations to illustrate the improvements.
