Abstract
A design method for an ultrasonic polishing tool for die manufacture is discussed in this paper. Normally, the design of the transducer assembly that is used to produce ultrasonic vibration is based on the resonant condition of one wavelength or half a wavelength of the component. However, this method only suits the design of some simple and regular shape transducers. In order to satisfy different industrial applications, a transfer-matrix method has been adopted in this study for the design of the transducer. Compared with the former design, the latter is easier and can satisfy any demands of shape and construction.
