Abstract

High precision, two dimensional (2D) control systems are in vast demand in industry, such as component insertion, 2D soldering and carving systems [1]. To realize a high speed or high precision motion control performance, a direct-drive machine is a potential candidate [2-3] since the problems such as backlash, accumulated error, etc., from the traditional rotary motors with linear translators stacked on top of each other can be alleviated [4].
