Abstract
The development of a recirculating fibre loop testbed to support the R&D activities of the Photonics Research Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is reported. The test-bed consists of 200 km of Coming SMF-28 fibre, 5 EDFAs, 8 DFB lasers, 100 GHz-spaced 8-channel DWDM multiplexers and dispersion-compensation gratings.
