Abstract
This paper, presented at a textile research symposium in Japan this summer, is concerned with research methodology of a non-scientific nature, and in particular with the role of qualitative methods in fashion and textile studies. An example is given of the systematic and detailed methodology which permits analysis of qualitative data in a creative context.
