Abstract
An empirical relationship between cavitation erosion resistance and indentation-derived properties of NiTi alloy was established. Cavitation erosion is a common phenomenon experienced by engineering parts in contact with a fast-flowing or vibrating liquid in which the pressure fluctuates. The relationship provides evidence that both pseudoelasticity and pseudoplasticity contribute to cavitation erosion resistance.
