Coordinating pricing and replenishment strategies in a three-level supply chain

Abstract

This paper is concerned with optimizing pricing and replenishment decisions in a multi-level supply chain composed of multiple suppliers, a single manufacturer and multiple retailers. The problem is modeled as a Nash game. We prove that the existence and uniqueness of this game when the replenishment cycles of the enterprises involved are fixed. We develop analytical method and solution algorithm to determine the equilibrum of the game. Finally, a numerical study is conducted to understand the influence of market, production and raw material parameters on the decisions and profits of the supply chain and its constituent members.
