Abstract

In this paper, Monte Carlo method with decomposition is proposed to solve the call blocking probabilities in circuit-switched networks. The network is decomposed into a number of interconnecting subnetworks. The conditional blocking probabilities in the subnetworks are solved exactly. Monte Carlo simulations are used for the computations related to the inter-subnetwork traffic. The required computational time can be significantly reduced.
