Abstract

With the purpose of investigating the dynamics of stage-structured ecosystem under periodical harvesting, a stage-structured prey-predator model with periodical harvesting is established. By virtue of the Poincaré surfaceof-section technique and computation of Lyapunov exponents, complex dynamical behavior such as chaotic behavior and quasiperiodic behavior in the proposed model are studied. Furthermore, chaotic behavior in the model system is controlled by constructing a special form of a continuous perturbation. Numerical simulations are carried out to show the consistency with theoretical analysis.
