Comparing central and split air-conditioning systems

Abstract

The energy consumption and life-cycle costs between a split system and a central system in a 29-story high-rise office building was compared in terms of initial cost, maintenance/operation costs among other factors. It was found that for large-scale buildings with a high cooling load, a central air-conditioning system should be used.
