Abstract
A combined method of FDTD and spectral technique for periodically guiding structures is presented. Discrete Fourier series representation for the field components in spectral domain is used and the computational domain is reduced to a single period along the axis of periodicity. Two examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this scheme.
