Abstract

The natural frequencies of a frame structure were calculated based on a finite element model, which agree well with the experiment data. The analysis of damage identification process was performed with parameters changing. Nine parameters were chosen to identify the damage conditions, which could be classified into three types. The identification process of each parameter was analyzed, and their common characters were summarized. It is found that the effect of the identified parameters based on curvature modes is better than that based on displacement or slope modes, the reasons of which were discussed. Three common characters of the proper parameters were obtained. Advises were proposed on the proper parameters selection for frame damage identification.
