Abstract
Four turbulence models and their combinations were tested and compared in simulating compartment fires with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). These four models were the algebraic model, the standard κ-ε model, the low Reynolds number κ-ε model and the modified forms of the κ-ε model with second-order corrections. Mixed Turbulence Model System (MTMS) with more than two turbulence models used in different locations was also investigated. Nine numerical experiments were performed. It was found that results predicted were similar in using different models and their combinations.
