Abstract

Case management is an approach in social service delivery that receives increasing attention in fields like family, youth, elderly and residential services, etc. Effectively information and knowledge management is definitely a key to successful and efficient service delivery. In this paper, a knowledge management approach is proposed for case management. This leads to the formulation of a knowledge-based case library which serves the purpose of facilitating the acquisition, retention and transfer of knowledge among the case workers. Some potential benefits of the knowledge-based case library have been realized through a pilot study in a selected reference site.
