Abstract

In this presentation we focus on migrant domestic workers' care of the self as embodied in their collective physical activities including dancing, martial arts, and yoga. To explore the impacts of smartphone technologies on the spatiotemporal structuring of these care practices, we draw on the concept of Microcoordination 2.0 (Ling and Lai, 2016) which explains online groups as emerging locus of social coordination and cohesive maintenance.
