Abstract

Aiming at protecting swimmers and surfers from shark attacks and preventing hurting sharks, we present a novel shark repelling system: Autonomous Drone Shark Shield, which uses flying drones to impede and prevent shark attacks. We introduce the design of the shark shield system and the strategy for expelling sharks. A shark interception algorithm was developed to steer drones to intercept moving sharks. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by computer simulation.
