Abstract

A software named AQTA `Automatic Quantitative Texture Analysis' has been developed to output the volume fractions of texture components automatically according to the CODF data calculated from X-Ray diffraction pole figures. The software includes the following features: 1) Locating the peak positions of the CODF and calculating their Miller indices, 2) Searching all orientations of each main texture component, 3) Transforming the CODF data to volume fraction element data, 4) Determining the spreading spaces of each texture component, 5) Calculating the volume fractions of the texture components. Such simplified texture information will be useful for engineers in the quality control and processing of sheet metals in industry.
