Abstract

An audit of electricity use in a number of major hotels in Hong Kong has been carried out. The audit results are presented, based on electricity use data in the year 1995, supplemented by an-site measurement and operational records. Energy use indices for electricity use weighted on unit floor area have been derived. The breakdown of electricity use into major building services in these hotel buildings was performed. Other factors affecting the electricity use in the hotel buildings audited such as year of construction, hotel class, were discussed.
