Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate that analytical relationship among nominal hardness and reduced Young's modulus was driven by indentation and strain hardening exponent. A three-dimensional rigid conical indenter with a given half angle, θ was driven to indent into a homogeneous elastic-plastic solids in the model of indentation considered in the study. An approximate relationship between hcmand hmwith n and We/Wtwas proposed as parameters for conducting the investigations.
