Abstract

In this article, a quantitative analysis of the cross-coupling effect for multi-objective wireless power transfer (WPT) is presented, and a relevant cancellation method to eliminate the influence is implemented. Based on the exemplified two-pickup and three-pickup WPT systems, the wirelessly transmitted power and efficiency are significantly affected by the cross-coupling effect among pickup coils. Meanwhile, the zero-phase angle (ZPA) operation of the primary side is deteriorated due to reflected capacitance caused by the cross-coupling effect. Accordingly, a cross-coupling cancellation method is proposed to eliminate the capacitive impedance and recover the primary side back to the ZPA operation. Both the simulated and experimental results are provided to verify the feasibility of the proposed cancellation method.
