Abstract

High frequency distribution has more advantages than its DC counterpart. In order to obtain a high frequency power source, a switched capacitor (SC) based multilevel inverter has already been discussed by authors. However, the proposed SC based inverter has a demerit that is an unbalanced energy extraction to power source. Although several switching strategies have been examined to overcome the unbalanced power sharing in cascaded multilevel inverter, the specific method of power sharing is still unsolved yet for SC based multilevel inverter. Hence, a novel switching method is presented to equalize the output of constituted module, and the corresponding simulations testify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
