Abstract
Based on current distributed virtual reality systems, a new approach to the distributed parametric path planning is put forward in this paper. In this virtual environment, paths of objects are linear or high-order functions of time, and all remote workstations are synchronized by standard clock server. The problem of long communications over wide area network can be resolved. In this system, information traffic can be cut down with cache ahead collision detection, and temporal display shifts can be reduced and even removed. This system also has the capability of increasing the level of smoothness when capturing user movement.
