Abstract

The emergence of hidden drug abuse youth has brought the society's attention. Traditional ways of drug abuse assistance are not sufficient to handle this serious issue. Intelligent methods have been developed to analyze behavior and alert parents and anti-drug workers, in order to overcome drug abuse problem on youths. In this paper, we discuss an intelligent alerting tool to detect the possibility of drug abuse of a young student, and to alert corresponding parents and social workers for remedial actions. The tool is embedded in a series of mobile applications for promoting anti-drugs amongst youths. For the alerting function, a number of data mining and text analysis techniques have been adopted for behavior analysis. A supporting instant messaging has been co-developed for communicating alerting messages. Some preliminary evaluation work has been experimented and reported.
