Abstract

We demonstrated a 10 Gb/s all-optical shutter based on Raman-assisted four-wave-mixing in dispersion-shifted fiber. Improvement of more than 65 dB in the conversion efficiency and 26 dB in the signal-to-background ratio are obstained.
