Simultaneous all-optical header processing and control-packet switching are demonstrated by using multiwavelength injection-locking in a single Fabty-Pérot laser diode, A special two-level control packet is used to process the header of the data packet at 5 Gb/s. The entire control oacket is all optically switched ON or OFF.
