ADC resolution requirement for DA-ML phase estimation QPSK optical coherent receiver

Abstract

We investigate the ADC resolution requirement for DA-ML phase estimation QPSK optical coherent receiver. Simulation results show that 5 bit ADC resolution is sufficient for accurate detection with less than 0.2 dB SNR penalty.
