Abstract
The active sound radiation control of cylinderical structures using piezoelectric (PZT) actuators was discussed. The sound fields in an aircraft were simulated and the effect of PZT actuators was analyzed through a bending model and an inplane force model. The control performances of the two models were assessed and the results showed that PZT actuators optimized the active control of interior noise over the low frequency range under 500 Hz. The in-plane force model had better performance than the bending model.
