N1 - Funding Information: Yuming Guo is a Professor of Global Environmental Health and Biostatistics and Head of the Monash Climate, Air Quality Research Unit at Monash University School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Australia. His research programs focus on environmental epidemiology, biostatistics, air pollution, climate change, urban design, residential environment, environmental exposure assessment, and infectious disease modeling. He has developed several large international multidisciplinary collaborations to assess the impacts of environmental factors on human health. He was awarded his Bachelor of Medicine by Hebei Medical University in 2006, a Master of Occupational and Environmental Health by Peking University in 2009, and a Ph.D. by the Queensland University of Technology in 2012 with supervision from Professor Shilu Tong. He was appointed as Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow by the University of Queensland from 2012 to 2016 with supervision from Professor Gail Williams. He was recruited as Associate Professor by Monash University from 2017 to 2020, and he established the Monash Climate, Air Quality Research Unit, and was subsequently promoted to Professor. He was awarded Leader Fellowship and Career Development Fellowship by Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, the Tony McMichael Award from the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology, the Top Ranked Young Tall Poppy Award by the Australian Institute of Policy and Sciences, a Research Excellence Award by the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, and was featured in the Reuters Hot List of The World’s Top Climate Scientists. He is an Associate Editor for Environmental Health Perspectives, Environment International, and PLOS Medicine. He has published >400 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals including the New Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, BMJ, and Nature. More information about Dr. Guo and his research can be found here: https://www.monash.edu/medicine/sphpm/units/climate-air-quality-research . Funding Information: Shihong Lin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA. He obtained his B.Sc. (2006) from Harbin Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. (2012) from Duke University, both in Environmental Engineering. At Duke, Dr. Lin worked with Prof. Mark R. Wiesner to elucidate fundamental mechanisms that dictate the transport and fate of nanoparticles in the environment. From 2013 to 2014, Dr. Lin worked with Prof. Menachem Elimelech at Yale on modeling various membrane processes. Since 2015, Dr. Lin has directed a research group at Vanderbilt with a primary research interest in advancing water separation processes to address challenges at the food-energy-water nexus. Specifically, the Lin group has been performing research to (1) enhance fundamental understanding of water treatment and desalination technologies from the molecular to system level, and (2) develop new processes and materials for water separation processes with higher efficiency, reliability, and versatility. Notable awards Dr. Lin has received include the Paul L. Busch Award (2020) from the Water Research Foundation, James J. Morgan Early Career Award, Honorable Mention (2020) from ES&T, CAPEES Young Investigator Award (2020), ACS-PRF Doctoral New Investigator Award (2016) and the ORAU Ralph Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award (2016). Dr. Lin is the incoming president of the Association of Chinese American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science (CAPEES). He also serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Water Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering Journal Advances, and Resource, Conservation, and Recycling, and on the Editorial Board of Journal of Membrane Science Letters and the Editorial Advisory Board for Environmental Science& Technology, and ACS ES&T Engineering.
