Abstract

A novel solar tracking scheme which adopts a linear switched reluctance motor(LSRM) as its servo actuator,is proposed in this paper.Three control schemes are designed for different requirements. The solar tracking system isdivided into an electromagnetic subsystem and a mechanical subsystem, which are corresponding to the electromagnetic behaviors and the mechanical movement, respectively. The system controller has a cascaded structure, and two different controllers are designed for the two subsystems.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the modeling and the control scheme.
