Abstract

This paper proposes a new single-stage three-phase bidirectional AC-DC inductive power transfer (IPT) converter for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) applications. The proposed converter is based on buck-type SWISS rectifier coupled to a multi-active-bridge converter. As a result, the proposed converter is not only enjoying the inherent advantages of low distortion of input current, high efficiency, and output short-circuit protection, but also achieving full soft-switching operation resulting from the property of the double-sided LCC compensation network and the proper modulation of the converter. The operating principle and mathematical analysis of the proposed converter are discussed. Experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the converter.
