Abstract

Predictive equations are developed that permit the determination of sound power radiated by two closely spaced spoilers. These equations require only simple flow parameters and corrected normalized spectrum K2(St). Using this technique, the sound level and spectral distribution of the additional acoustic energy produced by the combination of any given duct discontinuities in any given duct air flow velocities is predicted.
