Abstract

An extended-period, zero-current quasi- resonant converter (EP-ZCQRC) composes of a conventional PWM circuit and a resonant tank to achieve zero-current switching condition. In this paper, the analysis and passivity-based control of a buck-type EP-ZCQRC are presented. A generalized state space average is used to model of the buck-type EP-ZCQRC and the controller design is developed using the derived model. Based on the passivity-based approach, the control law is designed to stabilize the output voltage of the converter. Simulation results to illustrate the features of the proposed strategy are also presented.
