Abstract

we demonstrate a novel in-line dispersion monitoring scheme for 100Gbit/s CS-RZ DQPSK systems by evaluating the distortion of the demodulated eye diagram at the receiver. This scheme is very simple and cost-effective. Since no modification to transmitter or receiver is needed, the system performance will not be degraded due to the dispersion monitoring function. Sensitivity of this CD monitoring scheme is better than 9ps/nm.
