Abstract

The paper introduces a newly developed technology to produce a novel ring yarn that employs the use of a modification system attached to an existing ring spinning machine. The modification system allows yarns with reduced residual torque to be produced without the need of an additional step after the spinning process. It can save production cost substantially in the yarn production and fabric finishing as well as material cost in the spreading and cutting stages of garment manufacture. Positive experimental results were achieved. Significant commercial potential is envisioned for the modification system applied on the ring spinning machine.
