Abstract

A 3D low-frequency lightning mapping network with 8 stations was deployed in the Shandong Triggering Lightning Experiment (SHATLE) in north China. The ABA (A, B double time base) data acquisition system was adopted and particle swarm algorithm is used to fit the initial solution for lightning location. A precise 3D structure of the IBP, K process, step leader-return stroke and other processes can be obtained with this system.
