Abstract
A method for analyzing one-dimensional distributed feedback waveguides was developed. The method was developed by dividing a waveguide into a number of segments following the weak feedback division principle. The method was also used to analyze the reflection and transmission characteristics of uniform Bragg grating with arbitrary Bragg gratings. Two sets of formulas were also derived for calculating the reflection and transmission coefficients of uniform Bragg gratings. The proposed method provided higher efficiency than the effective index method and better accuracy than the coupled mode method.
