Abstract

To reduce the computation time needed in solving a practical optimization problem of electromagnetic devices, a fast and efficient global optimization method based on the combination of the Moving Least Squares (MLS) approximation and the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method is proposed. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the proposed method.
