Abstract
A DICOM-RT based electronic patient record (ePR) system for managing patients with brain tumor cases was designed and developed within the Radiation Ontology Department at USC Health Sciences Campus. By implementing this system, both clinical image and related informatics data are integrated into a one-stop source of patient clinical information necessary for making treatment decisions within the RT department and throughout the healthcare enterprise. The results show the confirmation that the conversion of DICOM-RT pbjects are correct and can be displayed similar to what is displayed within the proprietary system. Results reveal that the ePR system is beneficial to the clinical workflow.
