Abstract
IEEE 1394 is now a widely used interface for connecting PC peripherals. Since it provides high data transmission rate at low price, The IEEE 1394 bus can also be a cost-effective solution for linking a Network Of Computers (NOWs), or Cluster. In this paper, we tested the performance of IEEE 1394 on the Linux system, and discussed the implementation of a new communication library for using the IEEE 1394 network as NOWs interconnection.
