6.4-dB small signal gain enhancement in raman-assisted fiber optical parametric amplifiers

Abstract

We reported a 6.4-dB gain enhancement of a Raman-assisted fiber optical parametric amplifier over the sum of the gains of the individual Raman and parametric amplifiers by keeping the amplifiers out of the saturation region.
