Abstract

We demonstrated a 40-GHz actively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser that incorporates an electro-ab sorption modulator and a linear optical amplifier. Stable pulses with peak power of 46 mW and pulsewidth of 2.8 ps are obtained when pumped with 100 mw.
