Abstract

Using asymmetric narrow-band optical filtering to improve the response and reshape the optical spectrum of a commercial directly modulated distributed feedback laser, we demonstrate 40-Gb/s error-free transmission over 25-km negative dispersion fiber without dispersion compensation.
