Abstract

With rapid progress in economy, technology and society of the world as a whole, living environment of humans are also changing daily for good. These days, the requirement for a nice indoor living space is no longer limited to the practicality of a house, but people are also interested in improving the aesthetic aspect of their interior living space for a better quality lifestyle. In this aspect, a major problem faced by the interior designers is the inconvenience for them to simulate a home with a different interior design to depict an image of the improved interior living spaces in real life. Potentially Virtual Reality Technology has an extensive application in this field to tackle the problem of simulating different interior design in a given space conveniently and allowing people to get an image of their changed house interior. In this paper, we have applied the rapidly developing virtual reality technology and proposed a 3D interior decoration design methodology, VR3ID, by which people can simulate in VR and see how a given space would look and feel like with changes to its interior design.
