Abstract
A semi-implicit three-dimensional numerical model is developed for storm surge prediction. The model has been verified by simulating the wind induced motion in a rectangular basin. The application of the model to studies of storm surges in the coastal waters of Hong Kong produced reasonable results. Further work can be done on the inclusion of tidal effect in the model so as to give a more realistic simulation.
