Abstract
We successfully transmit 25-Gb/s OOK and 4-PAM signals generated by using a directly-modulated 1.5-μm VCSEL (bandwidth: 7 GHz) over 45- and 35-km-long standard single-mode fibers, respectively, without neither optical amplifier nor optical dispersion compensation.
